D scoots

Daisy has started scooting around. The gate went back up and now if I could just get the kids to quit putting choke hazards on the floor.
Addy started writing on my door. Here is what is says: Mom, Callie wants a popsicle tomorrow and she wants ? and she wants mac and cheese. Mom, I want a ? tomorrow. Mom,  Ian want some pretzels today.

The princess

This is a dress that was made by Daisy's Great Grandmother for one of us first four girls. It is so absolutely beautiful.

Ian needed to be in the pix too.

Daisy is always smiles this is such a fun age. Her pig tails are actually folded over that's how long the top is.

Ian gets left out

Ian cries when the girls leave for school. If I take him with me he cries when they get out and leave him behind. He was ready to go with Stacie today and didn't care that I wasn't coming. The girls started dance class and today they walked in the door and I told them to go change. Addy couldn't find a skirt to wear, so I found one for her and Ian was throwing a fit, so I handed him a dress up skirt. Figuring he'd throw it down and scream at me. Next thing I know he has his skirt on and is in front of the front door ready to go. Poor guy is hating being left out of everything.

Kindergarten

Addy never knows the names of anybody in her class. She did this at church and in preschool. I did think much of it until Callie came home from sunbeams after a week or two and said her friend, Reagan and another one she called by name. Addy just always calls kids her friends. It took until the end of last year for her to tell me it was Zaylie she was playing with. So this year I've been asking her the names of kids in her class. "Do you know any names?" her answer "one boy names Aaron."
"Is he your friend?"
"Not really" It just occured to me that Aaron is probably one that the teacher is always saying his name.

So, Addy is Kev's child. I was only half paying attention and it was bothering her. I finally put down the paper I was reading and told her I was listening. She told me a story about the boys in her class wanted to be babies and they dressed up like babies and crawled around on the floor. The the teacher made them change back and there were two kids that wanted to be pigs. When I asked questions she would evade them. I was still totally listening and thinking I might email her teacher and ask what she was talking about. then she says
"mom, you know all that stuff I just said? It's not true" Cant tell you how many times kev has done basically the same thing to me.

What?

Addy was stalling going to bed one night. When she was running out of things to say or ask me she stammered. . ."mom, is Subway . . Fresh?"

I was talking to Callie today about what day it was. I told her Friday and she was so sad that she doesn't have school. Then she told me that she doesn't suck her thumb on Fridays.

The beginning

Eric said that something funny happens every day and he is SO right. So I'm going to try to write them quickly before I lose them forever.
Yesterday, we were getting ready to have family prayer and Addy layed down on her back. She spit into the air and said "It's raining."

Today: I found Callie in my bathroom just pulling up her underwear and she ran past me saying she washed her hands. A minute later I looked in the toilet and found poop. "Callie, You didn't flush the toilet and you didn't wash your hands, now do it"
Addy says to Cal "How did she know you didnt wash you hands? . .  did you poop?"
"yes"
"Oh, that's how" as if I could see the poop on her hands.

Bath time

Yesterday Miss Daisy needed a bath very badly and I knew if I waited any later I wouldn't give her one. So I started the water running in the tub and took the baby to my room to get her undressed and take care of the blown out diaper she had. I took Daisy into the bathroom to find Ian had decided to get in while I wasn't looking. With a naked baby in my arms, who was getting cold, I figured I'd better get her in the tub. Then I couldn't resist taking this video. I took care of the baby and Ian didn't mind her being in his bath at all. It was really fun taking off his wet clothes and soaking diaper. This was his second bath of the day since I had given him a bath after his haircut earlier.

Cute Baby

Less than a week old in both pix!!

A hidden jem

Posted by Picasa

I found this pix and had to post it. It was taken just a month or so before Daisy was born, so it really was all the grandkids at the time. I laugh because my kids always ruin it when my mom wants to take pix and Ian was crying.

Addy's Preschool Graduation

Addy was super excited to graduate from Preschool and keeps asking how many days til kindergarten starts. The girl next to her in black is Kaytlin and they are good buddies, although she made new friends at school she wants to have come play too.

Our new additions!!

Our fam actually has gained 2 new additions this month. We finished a room in the basement and are so happy to have Solae' living with us this summer between semesters. With her help and my moms I just might make it through these first few months.

Daisy came on the scene on the 15th. I was surprised and relieved to have her 10 days early. In fact we got home from the hospital and had not pulled the swing or bassinet out of the basement. I was ready otherwise, so life is good.

I had been having serious contractions starting at 4am on the 15th and even had kev stay home from work for a half hour. When they didn't pick up I told him to go to work. He called all day asking if it was time to go to the hospital yet. Ha NO. I even got a 2 hour nap. They finally got steady at 7pm and we went to the hospital at 8. I had my water broken at 10:00, not wanting to be there all night. I had Daisy at 11:37! She has been a very good baby so far. She's actually better now that we're home and there is noise. I guess that is what she's used to.

The kids LOVE her. Addy is good at holding her and Callie is still awkward. Ian loves to come up to her and shake her foot or hand and say Hi a hundred times. (until I pull out the video camera, then he wont talk) Ian hates that I wont pick him up and in general will go to someone else for love, that will. But he's adjusting to her better than I thought he would.

I'm feeling pretty good, but don't tell. I know I over did when I had Ian, so I'm trying to take it easier than I feel I have too. I'll try to keep posting more pix and videos, so keep checking.

Icicles!

The girls love pulling icicles off the porch and licking them, or smashing them on the cement.
Ben likes to throw things at the ones hanging from my roof. And also smash them against things.
Look at the whoppers kev got for the girls. In the last week they have all melted enough that they fell off. The loud smashing of them landing in the window wells was enough to startle me several times a day for couple of days. The ice and snow is starting to melt!!! Now if it would just not snow again. This morning we had a flurry and I'm sure there's more storms coming.

I know when I put pix in the header then you can't steal them for yourself and I'm sure mom and Laurie want them, so I'm posting it as well

New Stories

I was brushing through Addy's hair the other day and I tell her she has big old knots. "Old like Granny?"
"Not quite that old" I told her. Granny is Kev's grandma who is 80 some odd.

Ian loves putting stuff on his head and thinks he's so cute. He put a toy bucket over his head and ran full speed into the wall, bounced back and fell on the floor. He was bawling, but I was laughing.

We drove past a house Callie goes to playschool at and she said "there's my friend" Sure enough the friend was asleep and her dad was carrying her into the house. Addy said, "but i didn't see her, what did she look like?" Callie said "She has eyes. . in her head"

Callie's Birthday!

Callie wanted a castle cake like Addy's. It was a lot easier this time having already made one. The little cupcakes for spires worked really well and that's what the kids wanted, not a piece of cake.
This is the crowd of helpers. Except Ian, cuz he's too busy to get in the pix. We had Stacie and David over with their three kids (alli is running around too) and  that just made the night complete. Addy and Callie love their friends and all summer Gabe was over when they were, so he knows them well too.

Valentine's Day

These are the valentine's I made for the kids before they ripped them apart.
We had a very busy day. Me and Kev went out to lunch for our Valentine's Celebration and a drive. Then there was all the ice chipping in the drive way. We gave the kids their valentines just before I started making our dinner. We had dinner at mom's and she made the Steak's and I made the Salmon. It was so pretty I had to take a pix. This is Maple Salmon from Rachel Ray. And it did taste as good as it looks.

A nice warm day!

We haven't been able to keep up with the snow this year, which has quickly turned to ice. Yesterday was so warm that the sheets were able to be broken up and Kev went to work. It's nice not to slip and slide on the driveway now.
The kids loved the project and were out to help.

Ian too!
Kev and Addy had to make it interesting. It really glistened by the morning light this morning.
